Terms of sale and legal notice

1. Who sells, and to whom

Chapter Checks is sold by READ FRANCE SAS, a French simplified joint-stock company with a share capital of €1,000, registered in Paris under number 988 741 773 (RCS Paris), 11 rue Rouvet, 75019 Paris, France. Contact: octave@vread.fr.

We sell to teachers, schools and school districts in the United States who buy for their teaching. By ordering, you confirm that you buy for professional use. Other countries are not served during this launch.

2. What you buy

Digital files: printable PDFs, an answer key, a CSV and a QTI 1.2 package for each title, as described on the order page. Titles marked with a release date are delivered by e-mail on or before that date to buyers of the 8-title set and of the school licence. If a title is more than 14 days late, you can ask for a full refund and keep the files already received.

3. Licence

Title pack and 8-title set: one teacher may print and copy the checks for their own students without limit, in any number of classes, and upload them to their own LMS courses or Google account, with access limited to their students.
School licence: the same rights for every teacher of the one school named on the invoice, until June 30, 2027.
Not allowed: posting the files or answer keys on a public website or a marketplace, sharing them outside the licence, reselling them, or using them to train or test AI models.

4. Price, payment, receipt

Prices are in US dollars and are shown on the order page before payment. Payment is by card, processed by Stripe for READ FRANCE SAS. You receive a receipt, or an invoice when you give a school or company name, numbered G-YYYY-NNNN. No French VAT applies: these are electronically supplied services to a buyer established outside the European Union (French tax code, art. 259 B, or art. 259-1° for a business or institution). We do not collect US sales tax; any use tax due by the buyer is the buyer's.

5. Delivery

The files are attached to an e-mail sent to the address you give, usually within minutes, and at the latest within one hour. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder, then write to us.

6. Refunds and corrections

If the files do not suit you, reply to the delivery e-mail within 14 days for a full refund; no reason needed. If you find a mistake in a question or a key, tell us: we correct it and send the new files to every buyer of the title.

7. Liability

The checks are teaching material. You remain in charge of how you use them and of the grades you give. Our total liability for an order is limited to the amount paid for it, except where the law does not allow such a limit.

8. Personal data

See the privacy page. We never receive student data.

9. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. Before any claim, write to us so we can try to settle it. Failing that, the courts of Paris have jurisdiction, unless a mandatory rule of your state says otherwise.
