URSSAF adds late-payment surcharges
In short
If you declare or pay your contributions late, URSSAF adds late surcharges (majorations de retard). The letter or your online account shows the period and amount.
Deadlines to check
- The « right to make a mistake » (droit à l'erreur) can allow the surcharges to be waived if you put things right within 30 days (subject to amount limits).
- A payment-plan request sent through your online account messaging usually gets a quick answer; by phone or letter, allow about 15 days.
What to do
- File the missing return and pay the main amount as soon as possible.
- Ask for a waiver of the surcharges from your online account (messaging), explaining the delay.
- If needed, ask for a payment plan.
- Turn on reminders in your autoentrepreneur.urssaf.fr account so you do not miss a deadline again.
